SSD DRAWN IN GROUP A FOR U-17 CECAFA CHAMPIONSHIP

South Sudan has been drawn in Group A of the TotalEnergies Africa U-17 Cup of Nations qualifiers for the East and Central Africa (CECAFA) region.

Ethiopia will host the competition next month as part of the TotalEnergies Africa U-17 Cup of Nations qualifiers for the East and Central Africa (CECAFA) regionn.

South Sudan is drawn in the same group which include Somalia, Kenya, South Sudan, and Rwanda,.

The draw for the regional qualifiers was conducted on Friday afternoon at the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA FM) radio studio in Mengo, Uganda.

Andrew Jackson Oryada, the head of marketing and communications for the East and Central Africa region, who conducted the draw, said the 10-team tournament will be held from November 15 to December 2 at the Abebe Bikila Stadium and Dire Dawa Stadium.

Group A matches will be played at the Abebe Bikila Stadium, while Group B matches, which include defending champions Uganda, Tanzania, Djibouti, Sudan, and Burundi, will be played at the Dire Dawa Stadium.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. The losers of the semi-finals will compete for the bronze medal, while the winners will play in the final.

The champion, runner-up, and third-place team will qualify to represent the East and Central Africa region in the 2026 TotalEnergies Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.

A: Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, South Sudan, Rwanda

B: Uganda, Tanzania, Djibouti, Sudan, Burund
