RSF DONATES EQUIPMENTS TO JOURNALISTS

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has handed over cameras, recorders, and other media equipment to support journalists across South Sudan.

The equipment, launched on Thursday at the AMDISS Centre in Juba, aims to help journalists improve the quality of their work and tell stories that matter.

RSF Coordinator in South Sudan, Maura Ajak, said the donation is part of the organization’s effort to promote free and reliable information.

“The right to free and reliable information is not a privilege; it’s a fundamental human right,” she said. “We know journalists here work in a difficult environment, and our goal is to support their professionalism.”

The donation was made in partnership with AMDISS, NPC-SS, and UJOSS, who will manage the equipment loan system to ensure it reaches journalists across the country.

Ajak praised the partnership, calling it a sign of strong collaboration to empower the media sector.

“We are excited to see the stories you will tell with these tools,” she added.

RSF has been supporting press freedom around the world for nearly 40 years and says it remains committed to standing with journalists in South Sudan.

RSF stands for “Reporters Sans Frontières” (French), which translates to "Reporters Without Borders" in English.
