REPUBLICAN CHAMPIONSHIP CONCLUDES AS JUBA CROWNED OVERALL CHAMPIONS

Juba - South Sudan: The 3rd Athletics Republican Championship has wrapped up in Juba with thrilling victories and exceptional performances, as Juba State emerged the overall champions of the national tournament.

The three-day championship, organized by the South Sudan Athletics Federation at Buluk Playgrounds, brought together athletes from across the country to compete in various track and field events.

Juba dominated the tournament, winning the women’s overall category, showcasing depth, discipline, and remarkable athletic talent. In the men’s category, Aweil State claimed top honors, delivering strong performances that won them the gold position and widespread applause from spectators and officials.

Speaking during the closing ceremony, officials from the South Sudan Athletics Federation praised all participating teams for their competitiveness and sportsmanship. They noted that this year’s edition recorded an improvement in times, coordination, and athlete development, marking a significant step forward for athletics in the nation.

Medals and certificates were awarded to outstanding athletes and teams, while coaches encouraged the government and partners to invest more in training facilities to help nurture future champions.
