INCREASED NUMBERS OF CANDIDATES REPORTED IN UNITY STATE

BENTIU - Unity State has reported a significant increase in the number of candidates sitting for both primary and secondary school examinations this year, according to the State Ministry of General Education.

The ministry says more than 5,200 candidates have registered for the primary exams, while 1,024 students are set to sit for the secondary examinations.

Director General in the Ministry of General Education Stephen Mayiel Gatkoi attributed the rise to improved school enrollment and urged parents to support their children during the exam period.

He said this year’s figures show strong progress. “For primary school, we have registered 5,237 candidates, and for secondary school, we have 1,024 — 730 males and 285 females,” Mayiel said. “There is an increase compared to last year, when we had 4,063 primary candidates.”

Primary school examinations are scheduled to begin on 24 November 2025, while secondary school exams will start on 1 December 2025.
