Bishop Justin Badi Arama Wins Prestigious African Award
The Archbishop and Primate of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan, Bishop Justin Badi Arama, has been honored with a distinguished award from the African leadership institute in recognition of his outstanding leadership, peacebuilding efforts, and commitment to strengthening faith communities across the continent.
The award celebrates Bishop Arama’s significant role in promoting unity, advocating for social justice, and championing the well-being of vulnerable groups in South Sudan and beyond. His years of service have made a profound impact on both the church and society, earning him respect across Africa.
Breaking the news to the Bishop’s meeting in Juba, Elizabeth Michael Lugor said the award is presented to the Archbishop for his efforts to bring lasting peace to the country.
“I am here to present a document that has been sent by the Pan-African Leadership Institute to his grace, Dr. Justin Badiarama, and this is a confirmation as a recipient of the Pan-African Leadership Institute Award for Spiritual and Peace Leadership, It is presented to the primate, our archbishop, for his spiritual and leadership roles in promoting peace in South Sudan”, Elizabeth said.
In his remarks after receiving the award, Bishop Arama expressed gratitude and dedicated the recognition to the people of South Sudan, noting that the achievement reflects the collective resilience, faith, and hope of the nation.
“ I am grateful to our lord for his works, I express my gratitude for the award, this achievement reflects the collective resilience and hope of our country”, Bishop Justin Badi said.
The award will be presented to the Archbishop in January 2026.
